Centres for Agricultural Innovation

£90 million of Government funding is available to support state-of-the-art facilities at the scale needed to develop, adopt and exploit new agricultural technologies and processes, moving research from the lab and plot to the field, farm and landscape.

Each Centre will be designed in close partnership with the sector to ensure that this investment will attract industry to come forward with funding and projects.

As announced in the Strategy, the first Centre will be the Centre for Agricultural Informatics and Metrics for Sustainability.  In April,  the first of a two-stage process will be opened, inviting consortia to submit outline proposals that address a series of questions.  If you're an interested business but are not already part of a consortium, keep a look out for more information about how you can engage in coming weeks.

Following consultation with business and researchers across the community, the Leadership Council is now developing priority themes for the remaining Centres.  The process to establish the subsequent Centres will commence this summer.
