Applications are invited for an industrial Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work within the Weed Control Chemistry Research Group at our research site in Frankfurt-Hoechst, Germany. The position is part of the EU Framework 7 Marie Curie ECHONET multi-partner Initial Training Network ( The post is for a period of one year and applicants should have a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or should have submitted a thesis prior to taking up the appointment.


The successful applicant will undertake research within a synthetic organic chemistry team in Frankfurt where they will be involved with the design and synthesis of novel organic molecules for biological testing. The work will be conducted within a highly dynamic research environment involving close interactions between chemistry, biology, biochemistry and molecular modeling. In addition, there will be opportunities for collaborative work with other ECHONET partners, including the possibility of a 2-3 month secondment. ·         Researchers must not have resided or worked in the host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the date of selection by the host institution

·         Researchers cannot apply to an institute in their home nation
